NEW MEDICAL CLINIC COMING SOON
"Horn Physicians Clinic-Mapleton"January 18, 2011
Horn Physicians Clinic (HPC) is proud to announce their expansion of services into the Mapleton community. Dr. Hesse, who is no stranger to Mapleton, provided medical services to Mapleton and the surrounding communities for 17 years and will soon be making a return. Dr. Hesse along with Jacqueline (Jackie) Crampton, Nurse Practitioner will be providing medical care in the new Horn Physicians Clinic-Mapleton located at 412 Main Street beginning the early part of February.
Dr. Hesse is a native of Smithland, Iowa and currently resides in Mapleton. He acquired his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Science (now called Des Moines University) in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine in Garden City, Michigan and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hesse's love for medicine began at an early age, with great admiration for doctors Herald and Jack Ganzhorn. "I just really admired what they did growing up", commented Dr. Hesse. "I got sidetracked a little when I first went to the University of South Dakota, and was taking courses to become a CPA (Certified Public Accountant). But during my Freshman year, I took an EMT course and got on with the Vermillion Ambulance Service, which really got my "juices" flowing again towards medicine. I then ended up transferring my Junior year to Buena Vista and switched to pre-med, and I guess the rest is history!"
Dr. Hesse's goals at the new Mapleton clinic will be to re-establish his patients in Mapleton, while maintaining his Internal Medicine clinic in Ida Grove. At this time, Dr. Hesse will see patients in Mapleton four days per week and a half-a-day in Ida Grove. This schedule may change depending on the needs of patients. "I am looking forward to going back and re-connecting with some of my patients that I haven't seen for over a year, as there are some that couldn't travel to the clinic in Ida Grove. I also want to reassure my patients in the Ida Grove and the surrounding communities that I will still be there on a limited schedule, but we will always have providers in Ida Grove to help them in their time of need."
Dr. Hesse and Jackie Crampton's medical skills, education, and experience will complement each other allowing HPC-Mapleton to provide the community with the full spectrum of family practice. "With Jackie and I working together, we will be able to treat a greater mix of patients age-wise", said Dr. Hesse. "In addition, we can confer with one another, but also have the ability to confer with the providers in Ida Grove, as they are just a phone call away."
